When used clean, the bridge pickup is very articulate and well defined, but when put into a dirty amp or used with a fuzz pedal it absolutely roars, sounding very reminiscent of Nirvana’s heavier guitar tones. The bridge pickup has a push/pull tone knob which splits it into single coils. However, the Duo Sonic HS is a more versatile guitar than the older models. This quality made it very popular amongst the New York post-punk movement in the 1970s and it is easy to see why bands like Television and the Talking Heads liked them so much.
